Federal court proceedings have formally begun in a high-profile case involving allegations of kidnapping and robbery tied to a dispute within the rap industry. Big30 (Rodney Wright Jr.) and Lontrell Williams Sr. have both entered not guilty pleas in connection with an incident prosecutors say targeted Gucci Mane earlier this year.

The case stems from an alleged confrontation that took place in January 2026 at a recording studio in Dallas, Texas. According to federal prosecutors, a group of nine individuals orchestrated what they describe as a coordinated and violent encounter, with the alleged goal of forcing Gucci Mane to release Pooh Shiesty from his contract with 1017 Records.
Authorities claim the situation escalated into a serious criminal act. Court filings allege that Pooh Shiesty, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams Jr., used an AK-style firearm to threaten Gucci Mane during the incident. Prosecutors further allege that Lontrell Williams Sr. played a central role in planning the operation, while Big30 is accused of recording video footage of a forced contract signing.
In addition to the alleged contract coercion, the group is accused of holding security personnel at gunpoint and stealing valuable items from the scene, including jewelry and a Rolex watch. Investigators have pointed to multiple forms of evidence, including ankle monitor data and social media activity, which they say link the defendants to the incident.

The defense, however, is pushing back strongly against the government’s case. Attorneys representing the accused argue that the allegations are exaggerated and lack sufficient proof. Williams Sr.’s legal team has stated that his presence at the studio was routine and unrelated to any criminal conspiracy, while Big30’s defense maintains that he had no involvement in any illegal activity.
At this stage, both Big30 and Williams Sr. remain in federal custody as the case proceeds through the legal system. No trial date has been finalized, and the outcome will depend on how the court evaluates the competing claims from prosecutors and defense attorneys.
As the situation develops, the case is drawing significant attention due to the high-profile names involved and the serious nature of the charges, which could carry substantial legal consequences if proven in court.
